Adoption of Ordinance No. 90 - Regulating Dogs in TCSD Parks and Lands
 

TCSD has been reviewing comments and concerns received from park users in Eastwood Park regarding commercial dog walkers use of the park. The concerns included the number of dogs a dog handler might have under their control, the interaction between dog walkers and other park users, and the largest issue, the commercial use of the park facilities by others.

Initial thoughts included development of a three (3) dog limit and a licensing program that would include specific use periods and fees. After careful consideration and feedback from the community at two public hearings, the TCSD Board has dropped the idea of a licensing program and settled on a use limitation rule that would limit the number of dogs per park user to three (3).

The Board does not want to support any commercial use of our parks and has deferred any decision to prohibit any specific uses at this time. While official detailed management of the park is a challenge, the Board asks that self-governance be continued and the Sheriff's office has been notified of our policy and will be support for any conflicts that arise.
