sueHC.bmpSue Hayes, Chairperson

Sue Hayes came from England 32 years ago and has been a homeowner in Tam Valley for 28 years.

She qualified as a Garden Designer in 1992 and has been running her own design and gardening business since then. She specializes in deer-resistant plants, drip irrigation, real estate garden staging and general landscape design.

She has been instrumental in designing and upgrading the plantings at the Tam Valley Community Center and purchasing many new trees for Eastwood and Kay Parks.   She has served on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission for 6 years and was voted Chairman of that Commission in 2006. She volunteers her time to help at many Tam Valley events and organized the Spring Daffodil planting in the business area of Tam Valley, under the auspices of the Revitalization & Safety Commission.

Jeff Brown, Commissioner

Jeff Brown has been a Tam Valley resident since 1998. As the former Entertainment Director for Paramount's Great America and Director of Operations for the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, Jeff brings vast experience in event operations and production, including recent redesign of the stage and house lighting systems and installation of broadband internet service in the Tam Valley Community Center. He has recently acted as Stage Manager for the Rhubarb Review and Jolly Jingles show and performed in the recent Murder Mysteries. His love of Halloween has turned Jean Street into a special occasion each October.

Jeff's love of community prompted his application to the Park and Recreation Commission. Jeff lives near Kay Park with his wife, Tracey (a Mill Valley native!) and children Shannon in Middle School and Kevin at Tam Valley Elementary.

Roberta J. Ricketts, Commissioner

I have lived in Tam Valley on Northern Avenue for over 50 years and knew the Valley before much of the development happened.  I raised two children and 2 of 4 grandchildren here and also have two great grandchildren.  I served on the P&R Commission previously for many years and enjoyed it very much.  I have always been involved in the betterment of Tam Valley in one way or another whether it was the Tam Task Force, TVIC, or PTA.

I very much want to again be involved in bettering my community.  I would li ke to have a part in changes for Eastwood Park (Ricketts Field) as well as the Parks & Recreation programs.  Because I have been so involved with my grandchildren, I have been to many other communities and seen their parks plus their recreation programs.  I feel I have much information to impart and feel I could be very beneficial to the Commission.

I am very open-minded, enthusiastic and have the time to take on such a position as P&R Commission member.  I also feel I can contribute from the point of view of a member of the older generation.
