General guidelinesIf you have any questions, please call: (415) 388-6393 Time: Place green, brown and gray carts at curbside by 5:00 AM on your regular garbage pick up day. The following are NOT allowed in any of the cans: Dirt, rocks, cement, paint, needles, medical waste, syringes, and other hazardous waste. Garbage will NOT be collected if (1) cans are not out by 5:00 a.m.; (2) cans are blocked by a car or other object; (3) oversized cans are used; or (4) cans are overweight. A special pick-up charge of $15.00 is required for a return trip to pick up garbage, recycling, or green waste.
Extra bag or cart: For $7.50 each, an extra can or bag of garbage will be picked-up on your regular day. Please make request 24 hours prior to pick-up and leave payment with extra cart/bag. Pick-up on Holidays: Pick days are not rescheduled. If your normal pick-up day is a holiday, the TCSD Refuse team will pickup all your garbage on that normally scheduled day.
Garbage cansSize and weight: Two sizes of the brown cans: (1) 35 gallons with a 70 lb. weight limit; (2) 65 gallon with a 100 lb. weight limit.
What is allowed in trash cans: Household garbage ONLY.
Green waste Green waste carts are picked up on your regular trash pick up day and need to be out by 5:00 a.m.
Recycling waste All recyclable materials including glass, plastics, cardboard, paper, and metal cans go into the large gray bin.

Debris BinsFor rental of a Debris Bin, call: (415) 388-6393
Residents can rent a wheeled 1-1/2 cubic yard, metal Debris Bin for $60.00. Residents can keep the bin at their house for 1 week and load the bin full of debris (no rocks, no dirt, no concrete, no hazardous materials accepted).
TCSD will automatically pick up the bin after the one week, or you may request to have the bin emptied or picked up earlier. For an additional $35.00, the bin will be emptied and left at your home for 1 additional week.

Residents may have brush or larger sized objects picked up by calling and arranging for pick-up. The charge will be determined based on volume of material.
Billing You will NOT receive a bill for refuse/recycling services. Fees are collected with your property tax bill under “Refuse Service Charges”.
