It has been brought to our attention by concerned residents that there have been a number of recent sightings of coyotes around the District and specifically near Eastwood Park. We are aware of the issue but have had no specific incidents or attacks reported. It is their breeding season which is why you might be seeing them more frequently. Coyotes are naturally elusive animals and avoid contact with humans. For more detailed information on coyote behavior, please read this article published by the University of California regarding coyote management.
