Extra Garbage, Debris Bins and Special Pickups

Debris Bin

Please call the Tamalpais Community Services District at (415) 388-6393 to order a 1½ cubic wheeled metal Debris Bin at the cost of $60.  Residents can keep the bin at their house for one week and load the bin full of debris (no rocks, dirt, concrete or hazardous materials).

TCSD will automatically pick up the bin after the one-week period, or you may call to have us pick up the bin earlier.

The bin can also be emptied and kept for additional weeks for an extra charge of $35 per week. (1½ cubic yards is equivalent to 9 garbage cans.)

Larger construction projects may require larger debris boxes available from other sources.  Local providers are Mill Valley Refuse, ( 415) 457-9760, and Grange Debris Box & Wrecking Co., (415) 456-2712.  You may obtain a 6, 10, 12 or 40 cubic yard debris box.

Special Pickup 

Residents may also have green waste or large objects picked up by TCSD Staff by calling and arranging for a special pickup. The charge will be based on the volume of material.

Bulk Items

The Marin Resource Recovery Center at 565 Jacoby St., San Rafael, (415) 485-5646, is equipped to accept many types of items, including "over-sized" items like box springs and mattresses, couches, chairs, washer/dryers, refrigerators, water heaters, carpets and toilets.

The center also accepts construction and demolition materials, including roofing materials, sheetrock, plaster, tile, soil, bricks...etc. 
No hazardous, infectious or medical waste. Asbestos items require special packaging.   Call for instructions.
