Emergency Preparation Information for 2010

Tamalpais Valley is located in southern Marin County, about 10 minutes north of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge.

TCSD provides several municipal services to the over 2,500 households in Tam Valley. These services include sewage management, refuse collection and recycling, management of community parks, and putting on a wide variety of recreation and community events and classes.

The residents of Tam Valley consider the community to be the southern gateway to western Marin County. California State Route 1 (also known as Shoreline Highway and the Pacific Coast Highway) runs through the Valley and is the road most often used to access western Marin County and the wonders and pleasures available there. These include the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA), Mount Tamalpais State Park, Muir Woods Nati onal Mo nument, Muir Beach, Stinson Beach, and Point Reyes National Seashore.  In addition, there are the communities of Muir Beach, Stinson Beach, and Bolinas.
